CAT 2026 Study Plan: Phase-Wise, Adaptive & Free
A static timetable assumes everyone learns at the same speed. An adaptive engine knows mastery is non-linear. This plan is built for the 70/20/10 priority rule — Arithmetic & Algebra first, then Geometry/Number System, then niche topics — with adaptive practice keeping you in the growth band.
Phase 1 — Foundation (Months 1–3)
Goal: Coverage + baseline. No section left untouched.
- Diagnostic full mock in week 1; log section strengths without ego.
- QA: Arithmetic first (Percentages, Ratio, TSD, Time & Work, P&L), then Algebra basics.
- VARC: Daily RC habit (editorials / long-form); VA types twice weekly.
- DILR: Basic graphs, arrangements, simple sets — focus on reading constraints fully.
- 2 sectional tests per section each week; light adaptive drills on misses.
Phase 2 — Adaptive Intensification (Months 4–6)
Goal: Accuracy in the growth band. Adaptive practice replaces blind volume.
- One full mock most weeks + deep analysis (see mock analysis framework).
- QA: Geometry + Number System + Modern Math; revisit Arithmetic under time.
- DILR: Hybrid sets, games & tournaments, multi-set selection practice.
- VARC: Inference-heavy RCs; strict fact vs judgment discipline.
- Spaced retest of tagged errors at 3 / 7 / 14 days (AdaptHub SRS queue handles this).
Phase 3 — Mock & Refinement (Months 7–exam)
Goal: Exam temperament + sectional cutoffs. No new heavy topics.
- Two full mocks per week when energy allows; never skip analysis.
- Sectional strategy lock-in: attempt order, skip rules, time checkpoints.
- Only high-ROI revision — weak topics from the error log, not the whole syllabus.
- Sleep, light review, and confidence calibration in the final week — no new heavy topics.
Working professionals: Compressed 6-month variant
Collapse Phase 1 into 3–4 weeks of high-intensity Arithmetic + RC + basic DILR, then alternate mock weeks with pure remediation. Only use this path if diagnostics show a workable baseline; otherwise extend foundation. Adaptive platforms help because they refuse to waste your scarce hours on already-mastered Level 2 items.
